Chapter Summaries

Foreword
In the Foreword, the author reflects on the book’s long gestation — originally conceived prior to 2000 and now brought to publication after decades of academic writing in cybersecurity and computer science. He notes that while much of the world has changed, the core spiritual truths remain timeless. The author chooses to publish this book first because of its simple yet urgent message about God’s covering in a time of human history that demands deeper understanding. He embraces small beginnings and anticipates more books to follow.

Preface
The Preface sets the eschatological and missional tone for the book. The author argues that the current generation stands at the threshold of the millennial reign of Christ and the greatest harvest in history. He calls the Church to move beyond fear of tribulation and instead embrace its role as the Bridal partner of Christ through passionate love, Davidic worship, and intercessory prayer. The preface introduces the central revelation of the God Who Covers as essential preparation for the days ahead, grounding believers in intimacy with God so they can endure and participate in what is coming.

Chapter 1: It’s 10 PM America… Do You Know Where Your God Is?
This foundational chapter establishes God’s unchanging sovereignty and enthronement. Beginning with the cultural question of parental responsibility, it pivots to the biblical question God asked Adam: “Where are you?” and then follows with the question of fallen man asks “Where is God?” The author demonstrates from Scripture that God reigns over the universe on His throne. His throne is immovable — even through the Fall, the Flood, and ongoing human rebellion. Key sections explore the Kingdom of God being “at hand” in Christ, the invitation to “come up here” (Revelation 4), and how God is enthroned in the praises of His people (Psalm 22). The chapter culminates in a powerful exposition of worship as the place where heaven and earth align, introducing the concept of God’s covering as the red carpet of grace that allows broken humanity to approach the Holy One.

Chapter 2: It’s a Journey, Not a Destination
This chapter frames the pursuit of covering in the life of faith as a progressive journey through key biblical landmarks (Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, Jordan) that were seen in the passing of Elijah’s mantle to Elisha, each representing stages of removing reproach, receiving a new name, victory over enemies, and returning to our first love. It emphasizes that spiritual progress requires intentional seeking of the King and Kingdom, including “spiritual violence.”

Chapter 3: The First Covering
A foundational exegetical chapter exploring the original covering of glory in Eden, the loss through sin, and the provision of covering through blood sacrifice. It connects the first Adam to the Last Adam and establishes covering as God’s initiative from the beginning.

Chapter 4: The Father of All Who Believe
This chapter develops covering as central to the Abrahamic narrative — faith, God’s accounting system, and the provision of a sacrifice. It shows covering as the thread of redemptive history (“His Story”).

Chapters 5–8: The Burning Bush through the Tabernacle of Moses
These chapters trace the progressive revelation of covering through Moses’ encounters: holiness at the burning bush, consecration at Sinai, and the detailed theology of the Tabernacle as God’s dwelling place among His people. Key themes include obedience, the fire on the altar, the nature of the Law, and the triune nature of the Tabernacle.

Chapter 9: The Tabernacle of David
A major section contrasting the Tabernacle of Moses with David’s tent on Zion — emphasizing open worship, intimacy, and the restoration of Davidic worship as a model for the Church.

Chapter 10: The Temple of Solomon
Explores the transition to the Temple, the importance of order, and the glory of the second house, with implications for the Church as the temple of the Holy Spirit. Several parallels are drawn between the temple and their ultimate fulfillment in the Church, Israel, and the age to come.

Chapter 11: Jesus the Messiah
Christocentric climax showing Jesus as the ultimate expression of God’s covering — the Passover Lamb, the torn veil, our High Priest, and coming King.

Chapter 12: The Breath of God
Focuses on the Holy Spirit as the fulfillment of covering — restoring fellowship, indwelling believers, and empowering the Church with glory and power.

Chapter 13–14: The Angelic Sons of God in Covering & The Covering Cherub
These chapters examine the role of angels (seraphim, cherubim, living creatures) in heavenly worship and covering, with special attention to Lucifer as the covering cherub and the atmosphere of heaven that is setup in response to angelic rebellion.

Chapter 15: The Power of Music
A technical but practical look at the role of music in the worship of the Church, its inherent power as a vehicle for God’s covering, and pictures of heaven that can be seen in the structure of music itself.  It gives resources for any believer with a passion for worship and prayer, as well as those who are involved actively in worship and prayer ministries.  Provides a direct correlation between the triune tabernacle, the triune nature of man, and the three-fold aspect of praise, worship, and manifestation as seen in the pattern of the tabernacle of Moses.

Chapter 16: Psalmody, Hymnody, and Spiritual Warfare
A practical look at the role of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in the life of the Church with resources for those wanting deeper understanding of the Scriptural resources that form of our worship. Relates musical theory to aspects of spiritual warfare in the life of the Church and its ongoing mission to make disciples of the nations.

Chapter 17: Aspects of God’s Covering in the Life of the Believer
Practical application — how covering manifests in salvation, holiness, protection, provision, and daily life.

Chapter 16: Epilogue
A concluding call to live under God’s covering through wholehearted worship and trust in the God Who Covers.
